On a beautiful late April evening we went for a lovely gentle stroll around Shurdington Church. We take comfort from the surroundings and it gives us peace.

Lovely afternoon
27/4/2013 This afternoon we visited the FT's and spent a lovely couple of hours in their company. Claire made tasty scones with jam and cream. To our surprise when we left Claire had also made a shepherds pie and a flapjack for us to take home. We are so touched by their kindness - thank you.
23/4/2013 In the evening Chris and myself drove up passed the Birdlip Radio Station and onto Cuckoopen Barn Farm. The farmer said it was OK to park on his verge at any time (I explained that Chris had recently had Chemo Therapy). I did a small sketch of the scene - life seemed OK then full of hope.

Anita and John
7/4/2013 John and Anita came down on Sunday which gave me the opportunity to take William back to Bath after his Easter break. It was lovely to have him home for a couple of weeks.
I did a drawing of William in preparation for a painting - he looks very sad.

Cycle ride to the river
Went out for a much needed body and mind recharge cycle ride. A very pleasant jaunt through Sandhurst and down to the river at Wainlodes. Thanks Jerry for supporting a rather shell shocked me. It was lovely to see Anita and John this morning.
It was on the previous Tuesday evening 19th March that Christine and myself received the devastating news that Christine had got a tumour. That Tuesday was Christine's last day at work. This was the start of the most horrendous, non stop roller-coaster journey that would end sadly in December 2013.
